Understanding Body Composition
Body composition analysis estimates components of body weight, such as fat mass and lean mass. Depending on the method used, it may also provide additional measures that help inform wellness discussions.
Our team can review your results in the context of your medical history, activity, nutrition and personal goals. Measurements are one part of a broader clinical assessment and do not independently diagnose a medical condition.

The InBody 570 Body Composition Analyzer
The InBody 570 uses direct segmental, multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to estimate body composition. During the brief, non-invasive test, you stand barefoot on the foot electrodes and hold the hand electrodes while a very low electrical current passes through the body. The device measures electrical impedance separately in the arms, legs and trunk at multiple frequencies, then estimates skeletal muscle mass, body fat, and total, intracellular and extracellular body water. These measurements can help our team discuss nutrition, exercise, rehabilitation and changes over time; results are interpreted alongside your medical history rather than used as a stand-alone diagnosis.
